Buddy Bag Project, Inc. is a blend of donations and services to homeless men, women, and children in the Kansas City area. Our overarching goal is to offer fellowship, empowerment, and dignity to people currently living in poverty or transitional housing.

Volunteers collect, curate, pack, and deliver personal care items to City Union Mission’s Men’s Shelter, and Family Center. Personal care items include lip balm, soap, lotion, toothbrush and paste, etc.

Partners engage with clients by serving meals at the Family Center, assisting with holiday shopping at the Community Christmas Store, and behind the scenes sorting and stocking at the Blue Springs City Thrift Store.

Perhaps the most engaging service is with the spring and fall giving events. At the spring Betty Bag Giveaway, women get to select a gently-used purse, fashion accessories, and personal hygiene items. In the fall, the Cozy & Cuddle event allows kids to shop (with a parent) for their own personal throw, hat, scarf, gloves, and small fun item.
